The beautiful western mountains offer a variety of year round activities. During the winter skiers take advantage of the 8 interconnected mountain peaks at Sunday River Ski Resort. Sunday River is widely known for outstanding snowmaking providing the best skiing in the East regardless of natural snowfall.
During the spring and summer, residents and visitors enjoy hiking, kayaking on the Androscoggin River and exploring the many areas that the region has to offer. Bethel is home of Mollyockett Day on the Town Common, and an Art Show in early July and a Fall Festival with a chowder cook off, highlighting many of our varied area restaurants.
During the fall, the area is painted with beautiful colors.
